In those days, the Indira Gandhi Institute of Cardiology (IGIC) stood as the lone institution offering secondary care facilities for cardiac ailments.

Dr. A. K. Thakur, the visionary Director of IGIC at that time, recognized the hardships faced by cardiac patients and their attendants. Driven by a commitment to alleviate their suffering, he conceptualized and spearheaded the establishment of a hospital dedicated to the tertiary care of cardiac patients. This vision materialized on November 19, 1994, in the form of the Heart Hospital in Kankarbagh, Patna — a pioneering initiative and the first of its kind in the private sector in Bihar.

Since its inception, Heart Hospital has evolved into a formidable institution, progressively expanding its scope of services.
